About Senior Mama & Her Baby Boos

Hi, I’m the daughter behind Senior Mama & Her Baby Boos—and this all started with my 90-year-young mama.

She’s strong, independent, and still doing well today. And that matters more than anything… because I’ve learned just how unpredictable the future can be.

A few years ago, she had a serious fall that left her with multiple fractured ribs. In that moment, everything changed. It opened my eyes to how quickly life can shift—and how important it is to make a home safer, simpler, and supportive as we age.

Then came something harder to navigate—subtle memory changes for other elderly family members.

  • Is this normal aging… or something more?

  • What should I be paying attention to?

  • How do I help without taking away her independence?

Like so many families, I found myself searching for answers—trying to understand dementia, caregiving, and how to prepare for what might come.

Why I Started This

I started this space for more than one reason.

Yes—I truly want to help other families on this journey. Because I understand how difficult it can be. The uncertainty, the stress, the constant second-guessing… it’s a lot.

But this also comes from experience.

I’ve seen what works. I’ve learned what actually helps. And I know that even small changes can make a real difference—sometimes even preventing something as serious as a needless fall.

If sharing what we’ve learned helps even one family avoid that, it matters.

I also spent over 100 hours researching dementia, early signs, and caregiving approaches. And what I realized was this:

So much of the stress, confusion, and even suffering families go through could be reduced—if they simply had the right information earlier.

People shouldn’t have to struggle longer than necessary… especially when helpful, practical information already exists.

That’s why I created the checklist.

It’s the one I wish I had from the beginning—something simple to help track changes, organize thoughts, and feel more prepared—especially before doctor visits.

I truly believe it would have saved me hours of stress, uncertainty, and emotional strain—for both me and my mama.

And if it can do that for someone else, then this was all worth starting.

Something Personal

There’s another reason I started this… and it’s deeply personal.

I wanted to remember her.

To capture who she is right now—her strength, her personality, the little everyday moments—while she’s still here and doing well.

Because the truth is, the future is uncertain.

And if the day ever comes when things change, I want to be able to look back and remember the best of her.

I do wish I had started this sooner.

But I’ve come to understand something important:

It’s better to start now than not at all.
